Beta Testing Plans & Building the Future Together
🚀 Our app prototype is being tested behind the scenes! Beta testing will launch soon(ish)—so get involved, shape the future, and join our creative challenges. Exciting things ahead! ðŸŽðŸ“± #BetaTest
Firstly, a shout out to Price McGhee who prompted me to realise I may not have been clear in my previous blog posts. Thank you very much, mate!
And now onto an update…
The initial prototype of the app landed with our team last Monday, and we’ve been busy poking, prodding, and generally trying to break it ever since. We’ve got another internal release coming this Monday, and honestly? I am very pleased with how it’s looking. There are, of course, a few technical glitches to iron out (because of course there are), but that’s exactly why we’re testing.
Now, before anyone gets carried away expecting something as polished as the Starship Enterprise—this is a prototype. That means:
Some parts will look unfinished.
Some bits will be placeholders.
Some features will be much simpler than what we’re aiming for in the final version.
Basically, it’s like looking at a rough sketch before the painting is done—so don’t panic if it’s not a masterpiece yet.
When Can You Get Your Hands On It?
We’re planning for the Beta test release in March. Probably. Because, as anyone who’s ever played a Bethesda game at launch knows, technology development doesn’t always run on time. If we need to push it back a bit to get it right, we will—but rest assured, it is happening. And if you’ve signed up to be a co-creator, you will be included.
What Happens Next?
Once the app is ready for wider testing, we’ll invite you to join our Discord. That’s where the magic begins. Your first mission, should you choose to accept it (and you should), will be:
Download the app
Explore it
Tell us what works, what doesn’t, and what makes you want to throw your phone across the room
And any ideas it gives you too
Then, we’ll be asking you to spread the word and help us grow the co-creator community in Discord to 100+ people. That’s the number we need to make sure we’re getting a broad enough range of input to shape the platform properly.
The Fun Bit: Creative Challenges
Once we hit that magic number, we’ll start running a series of creative challenges, including:
🎠Performing scripted scenes from our planned productions
📖 Experimenting with narrative prompts
🎬 Reinterpreting iconic moments from books, films, TV, and theatre
🤹 Exploring improv and audience interaction in a social format
This isn’t just for fun (though it will be a lot of fun). Through these challenges, we’ll stress-test the app’s creative potential, figure out what works, and tweak what doesn’t.
At the same time, we’ll be working with you to develop original stories for the platform and—crucially—developing the creator payments model together. Yes, we’re ditching the outdated model where a handful of gatekeepers decide what gets made. This is about putting the power back into the hands of creators—so we’ll be shaping the community commissioning model together.
This is a tool set for you to tell stories easily. No more constantly upped subscription fees from Netflix and that gang of capitalist junkies.
Thanks for Sticking With Us
A huge thank you to those of you who’ve reached out with excitement and questions. We know waiting is hard (we’ve all been there refreshing a pre-order page for something we desperately want). But trust us—getting this right is more important than rushing it out unfinished.
So, while March is the goal, things might shift. If it makes sense to wait until April, when our new intern joins us, we’ll do that. That’s the nature of start-ups and tech—it moves, it changes, and sometimes it needs a little more time in the oven.
But it is coming. And we’re so excited for you to be part of it.
Stay tuned, stay patient, and stay hyped—but, you know, in a cool, measured way.
🚀 More soon!
